tips
TIP FOR OUTLINE 7:4 ---- Remember: * "Utopian" was a label created by Karl Marx for the thinkers who preceded him, and it wasn't complimentary. * How did Marx differ with the Utopians? * Why and how would traditional Marxists view revisionists as traitors to their cause?TIP FOR OUTLINE 7:3 ----- Note how the tsar was trying to CHANGE Russian society, describe why the tsar would see the need for reform, don't just list the reforms.
TIP FOR OUTLINE 7:2 ---- Make sure you start with the rise of nationalism (and it's source: Napoleon and liberalism), the economic issues (Zollverien) and kleindeutsch vs. grossdeutsch. Explain Metternich and the Prussian vs. Austrian rivalry.... and of course, all of Bismarck's maneuvering through 1871.
Tip for 7:1 ---- I think I would deal with Mazzini's idealistic nationalism through 1848 first, then describe Victor Emmanuel/Napoleon III/Cavour's "Realpolitick," then tie it up with Garibaldi's push from Sicily to Rome.
